South African designer Rich Mnisi has become one of the most influential names in global fashion, blending bold South African heritage with modern designs. Known for his daring use of prints, vibrant colors, and androgynous silhouettes, Mnisi has carved a space for African fashion on global stages.

His brand, named after him, has collaborated with global fashion houses like Adidas and H&M. His creations have graced red carpets, music videos, editorial spreads, and some of the world’s biggest celebrities. Which is what I shall be focusing on in this article.

Beyoncé

Beyoncé is a longtime champion of African designers, and Rich Mnisi is no exception. She was spotted in South Africa wearing a custom Mnisi ensemble for the Global Citizen Concert.

The photo was shared on Rich Mnisi’s Instagram - Beyoncé is seen wearing a custom Rich Mnisi Rhundzu Blouse and a Crocodile Half-Pleat Skirt. This outfit was riddled with beautifully contrasting patterns and colors, but they came together perfectly.

The half-pleat skirt was asymmetrical, hugging her curves before flowing freely a couple of inches below her knees. It provides a clear view of one leg, but slightly obscures the other. The shirt hung loosely on her body, cinched at her wrists and neck.

It was the embodiment of business at the top and party at the bottom.

Naomi Campbell

Supermodel Naomi Campbell, a consistent supporter of African talent, has also been seen in Rich Mnisi. One standout look featured Naomi in the Xiluva jumpsuit during her 2019 interview with Good Morning Britain

The Xiluva jumpsuit is a sleek, printed piece paired with a beautiful blend of colors and symmetry, perfectly reflecting Mnisi’s style. Her endorsement reinforced the brand's credibility and luxury status.

Ciara

American singer Ciara has worn Rich Mnisi twice, but my favorite Rich Mnisi piece on her was the dark green dress she wore on The Ellen Show. The dress was a one-shoulder, long-sleeved, turtle-necked dress with a thigh-high slit.

The dark green on Ciara’s skin and body was a blessing to all those lucky to see it. It was as if that outfit had been crafted and designed just for her.

Whether it's multicolored pieces with intricate symmetry or simple dresses with slits, a Rich Mnisi dress will always be a showstopper.

Adonis Bosso

This model and musician were styled by Rich Mnisi, and he looked absolutely stunning. Adonis was wearing pieces from the Nwa-mulamula collection. He wore a patterned Rich Mnisi black-and-white jacket and black-and-white pinstripe pants.

A simple, yet alluring combination. Adonis Bosso looked as classy as ever in Rich Mnisi.

Conclusion

From Beyoncé’s symmetrical two-piece to Naomi Campbell’s colorful jumpsuit, Rich Mnisi continues to redefine what it means to bring African fashion to the global stage. His ability to fuse color, patterns, and bold aesthetics positions him among the most important designers of our time. As global fashion continues to grow, Mnisi’s influence will expand, proving that African creativity is not only participating in the global fashion conversation but also shaping it.
