The Art of the Pop-Up: The ‘Tia Adeola’ NYC Pop-Up
Pop-ups have gained increasing popularity in recent times as a way for customers to feel a personal connection with the brand. With the current trend of running fashion houses online instead of through ‘brick-and-mortar’ stores, brands are finding ways to meet their customers where they are and provide them with the in-store experience of selecting items and finding the perfect size for themselves. It’s an experience that's truly unmatched. Entering the store, feeling the material, and finding the right size are all things that allow the consumer to really connect with the brand. So when an African brand curates a pop-up for residents of the city they pop into, supporters of both African culture and African fashion pop out!
The Tia Adeola pop-up was one for the books. It commenced over the weekend from July 12th, 2025 to July 13th, 2025. This event was curated for the lovers of contemporary summer fashion! Customers got to experience an African summer while copping some of the most iconic looks from Tia Adeola. Upon entrance, the stylists at the event greeted you with the warmest smile and the best advice. They consistently hyped you up as you tried on pieces of art, and didn’t cease to help you find your perfect piece. The pieces were arranged on a clothing rack, with some pieces pre-styled on mannequins.
The jewelry display was paired with their scent display and well positioned for the buyer to be able to complement their accessories with an aroma.
The event featured pieces from previous seasons, bestsellers, and brand-new collection pieces that just hit the runway this year! This pop-up allowed the buyer to get an exclusive look and feel of these pieces, while allowing some to grab some of the last few pieces from previous seasons. That experience is unmatched because you almost feel like you’re part of a special club. A special club that instills a fondness for the designer and a personal collection of their artwork. Collecting fashion is quite literally collecting art, and pop-ups like Tia Adeola’s allow you to collect the art straight from the artist.
Although the pop-up is over and not all these looks can be copped again, some of the looks are still available on the website. Let’s give you a peek at what they had in store so that you can keep your ears peeled for even a whisper of the next event:

Ora ‘Aura’ Candle
Tia Adeola consistently provides variety! From dresses to skirts, to ruffles and fur, and now scents! This candle is said to smell like ‘Tia’s World’. How poetic. Creating items like this within a brand allows the buyers to truly resonate with the designer and get to know them through their creations.
The Tia Adeola NYC pop-up was not just curated for those familiar with the brand but also for those who wanted to stop by the venue and see what was there. It was hosted at a venue called ‘No Standing NYC’, a luxury vintage and secondhand store. Allowing new buyers to walk in not knowing what they wanted, but then leaving gaining a connection with an African-owned brand. This method of using spaces with high foot traffic and allowing customers to pair ‘Tia Adeola’ pieces with other brands they might see is a very smart decision because, in the real world, the average person is wearing pieces from multiple brands.
They say summer is the Season of Pop-Ups, so we can’t wait to see and attend more all over the world. This ‘Tia Adeola’ pop-up in NYC was one for the books! Make sure to pop out to their next one in your city!
