The Bounce is Stylish
Are you into gbeborun? The only right answer to the question asked at the beginning of Nigeria's most popular podcast should always be YES.
Described by the host as an unsolicited opinions podcast, ‘I Said What I Said’ has been dishing out advice, comical stories, and unforgettable shows for eight years now. Still, we must never forget that one meal they always serve up is their outfits. FK Abudu and Jola Ayeye, the hosts, give us looks that rival their podcast content.
Everyone with a working phone knows podcasts are available on streaming networks, you don’t need youtube to hear what these ladies have to say, on days when I’m to busy to sit in one place I like to listen on a speaker while going about doing my daily tasks, but I anticipate those days when I have nothing doing as I can take my time to sit down in front of my chosen device and just stare at their outfits while listening to them share the dilemmas.
I mean, where else am I going to see two beautiful ladies explaining the reason for the rise in short engagements and dangers of vaping in Moye Africa pants? I think it’s their commitment to wearing these African brands that impresses me the most. Episode to episode, you can find a variety of popular brands you would die to get your paws on, and if you have a lucky sighting of them outside of the comfy couches of their studio, it’s the same.
Their outfits match their energy; every time they pop out in one of these looks, it feels like the designers tailored them for both women.
The duo just concluded an international tour, hosted in three cities: London, Toronto, and New York, taking their antics and delectable style with them. In London, the women convinced onlookers and even random passersby that we might not want it, but we all need a Kai collective suit.
At their Toronto show, both wore Moye Africa, and for their last show abroad, we saw them in Banke Kuku. They had an unforgettable season launch and released stunning promo photos in which they wore outfits from designers such as Aso, Banke Kuku, and Shop FSS. Their Christmas edit in collaboration with Desiree Iyama fed the masses for weeks, convincing those who didn’t know what to wear for the big holiday to look no further.
FK and Jola are wearing ASO for the Season 7 launch.
Whether it’s shopping at Ebeano, hosting live shows, or even a casual trek to Ikorodu, the women of ISWIS, unserious as they may be, never fail to remind us that their sense of style is the opposite.
