Fashion often stems from a cloth becoming a person’s essence, a statement of their past. Many offer this in spades, but one that truly sets herself apart is our Model Spotlight for today. This is the story of a model who has brought the poise, confidence, spirit, and strength of the people to the global arena. This is the story of Maria Borges, Angola’s global supermodel.

How It Started

Maria Borges was born in the capital city of Luanda, also the country’s largest city and biggest port, during the latter stages of the Angolan Civil War. Much of her early life is unknown, as Borges is known for keeping her past and private life very private.
